Choose your tap water filtration
We use activated carbon filtration in combination with ultrafiltration membrane technology for each tap water filter. Yet filters may differ by active carbon type and ultra membrane pores. The purpose is to adapt filters for tap water type and usage. For example, filtering tap water for showers, we take into account high flow and other types of ultra membranes. Meanwhile, to save drinking water from your tap, we use ultra membranes only 0.01 micron.Navigate our tap water filters variety or contact our water expert for professional advice.

What is a tap water filter?
A tap water filter is a system or device that treats water directly from the tap before you drink or use it. The goal is usually to reduce odours and lower the presence of selected contaminants or residues.
People choose tap water filters for different reasons. Some want water that tastes fresher. Others are interested in tap water purification at home to reduce substances such as chlorine, heavy metals, or other unwanted elements that may affect water quality.
Also, there is an option between on the tap or under the sink installation. Depending on what is more suitable for your situation.
Tap water filters with activated carbon
Why to use activated carbon in filtering tap water? Activated carbon is a type of carbon that has been treated with oxygen to make it more porous. This makes it ideal to be used as a filtration medium because it is able to remove a large number of impurities from the water
Activated carbon filters are chosen to help:
- remove harmful chemicals such as Chlorine, Sulfur, etc.
- absorb and remove heavy metals harmful to the human body.
- absorbs harmful dissolved organic compounds present in water.
Moreover, it has the ability to inhibit the life and growth of harmful bacteria. But it doesn’t filter bacteria out of water. For this purpose we use ultra membranes technology.
Activated carbon is often used in combination with other filters to further purify the water. At AQUA Logic, we offer tap water filters that use activated carbon to improve the water in combination with ultra membranes.
Ultra membrane water filters
For households that want finer physical filtration, ultrafiltration membrane systems offer an additional layer of treatment. These systems use a membrane with very small pores to physically separate particles from water.
Ultra membrane filters are commonly selected when customers want support with:
- sediment and suspended particles
- fine physical impurities
- a more advanced filtration setup than a basic taste-and-odour filter.
An ultrafiltration system can be an option for homes looking for a more complete water filtration solution in combination to keep installation practical for domestic use.
What is the difference between a water filter and a tap water filtration system?
A typical water filter is usually a compact solution designed for one direct purpose, such as improving water quality of drinking water at a specific tap. It is easy to install and suitable for smaller households or targeted everyday use.
A tap water filtration system is typically a more complete setup. It may be installed under the sink, connected directly to a tap, or integrated into part of the household water supply. These systems are often chosen by people who want a broader filtration approach, higher capacity, or more consistent performance over time.
A water filter may be right for you if:
- you want an easy point-of-use solution
- your main goal is to have a better drinking water only from your tap
- you prefer easier installation.
A tap water filtration system may be right for you if:
- you want a more advanced filtration system for the whole house
- you use filtered water every day not only for drinking and cooking but also for your shower, dish washers and watching machines.
When purifying tap water at home matters most
Tap water is safe in many homes, but not every home faces the same conditions. The age of the building, the condition of the pipes, and the needs of the people in your household can all affect how important extra water purification becomes. In some situations, adding a water filter is a step toward better everyday protection and peace of mind.
If you live in an older building, aging pipes , then it affects your water quality. The reason is that lead or copper may leach into the water over time. Or worn distribution pipes add another layer of risk.
If your water comes from a private well or a small local system, home treatment becomes even more valuable. These sources often receive less frequent monitoring than large municipal supplies, so regular testing combined with a good household filter gives you more control and peace of mind.
Is filtered tap water healthier?
Filtered tap water may be a better choice in some situations, but the answer depends on the quality of the incoming water and the filtration technology used. A filter helps reduce certain unwanted substances, but no single filter type should be assumed to remove everything.
That is why it is important to choose a system based on your actual water quality goals. For example:
- activated carbon is often selected for taste, odour, and chlorine reduction
- ultrafiltration membranes are used for finer physical filtration
- some households combine multiple filtration stages for broader performance, such as a complete tap water filtration system.
Do TDS meters check water quality?
A TDS meter measures the total dissolved solids in water. It does not tell you whether water is safe, unsafe, healthy, or unhealthy on its own. Water quality depends on multiple factors, including the type of dissolved substances present and whether microbiological or chemical contaminants are involved.
If you are trying to choose the right tap water filter, TDS is only one small part of the bigger picture. Contact our water filter expert for detailed consultation
When should you replace a tap water filter?
To keep a filtration system performing well, the filter cartridge or membrane should be replaced at the interval recommended for that product. Replacement frequency depends on:
- water consumption
- local water quality
- the type of filter technology used
- the specific cartridge capacity.
A filter that is not replaced on time may perform less effectively. That is why regular maintenance matters.
At AQUA Logic, we help customers choose suitable replacement intervals and the right filtration solution for home use.

FAQ
What does a tap water filter do?
A tap water filter treats water to reduce unhealthy contaminations and substances, including bacteria, microplastic and PFAS.
Which is better: activated carbon or an ultra membrane filter?
They serve different purposes. Activated carbon is often chosen for odour improvement and some particles. Ultra membrane filtration has finer physical filtration. The better option depends on your water and your goals. AQUA Logic uses both filtrations in most of the filters.
How often should I replace my water filter?
It depends on the filter model, water usage, and local water quality. Always follow the product’s replacement guidance.
Does a TDS meter show whether water is healthy?
No. A TDS meter only measures total dissolved solids. It does not provide a complete water quality or safety assessment.
